HOOT (http://hootreview.com/) is a magazine of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction printed on postcards. The artwork is made after the writing is selected. One postcard is published every month.
Amanda co-founded HOOT in 2011, and now serves as co-editor, artistic director, and designer. She has also made the artwork for many of the postcards.
Her goal is to combine the words with the artwork in a way that goes beyond pure “illustration”– that adds to the text, or emphasizes an emotion or unspoken relationship. The whole project– from its brevity, to its tangible beauty– is about making art and literature accessible.
